words
can never express the joy, thankfulness and gratitude
Diane Brown ... A Mother Like No Other
It's true. I was not the easiest son to raise. Nor
did I always give you the recognition that you deserved for the role that
you had and continue to play in my life. But know that your years of hard
work with me have not been in vain, and that your belief in me has always
been appreciated. Thanks for being my Mom.
Love, Brown
My Girls:
The Apples of My Eye
Ryan and Jordan - Throughout your years,
your presence has brought me so much joy. Being your Dad has been the
single most important and continuous event of my life.
I Love You All !!!!!!, Dad
Dr. Moses Powell ... The Founder
Of Our System and The Teacher Of Teachers
As a seven year old boy that has just started martial
arts training, I saw you for the first time in Madison Square Garden and I
found myself in awe and breathlessness. For years I wondered if I would ever
have the opportunity to meet you. When you accepted me into the Ryu, it was
like coming to the home I had always been searching for, and have chosen to
dedicate my life to supporting ... in the true sense of family.
One Love Doctor Powell, Shihan Brown
Professor Darryl King ... My
Teacher, My Mentor and My Brother
The Internet gave me the opportunity to meet you. You
gave me the greatest gift a teacher could give his student ... opportunity:
To understand my own limits, to humble me when needed, to broaden my
horizons, to accept me as your student and to let me call you my friend. I
am honored to call you My Teacher My Sensei.
With Love and Bushido Always. Eye-To-Eye ...
Heart-To-Heart, Shihan Brown
Soke Terrill Ellerbe
... My Sensei In Koryu
We have been friends for only a short while. However,
we share so many ideals in Koryu Arts, it's always educational and
enlightening to train with you. The level of integrity and purity in your
spirit will always be a presence that influences me in every aspect of my
life. Thank you for being my friend and Sensei.
WIth Love and Bushido Always, Shihan Brown
Kyoshi Tommy May ... My First True
Sensei
After training for 9 years in TKD, you took me into
your world and taught me the skills I needed toward being a man. Hard
training left me with Black eyes, bloody noses, and bruised limbs. The
greatest things training with you left me with were love, devotion and
kinship. During my teens and early adulthood, you were a constant source of
knowledge, support and guidance. I will be forever thankful for your being
there.
With Love and Bushido Always, Shihan Brown
Kyoshi Art Drago ... My Mentor,
Perceptor, and Advisor
If ever I wished for a person of infinite wisdom and
insight, it's you Sensei. Any time we speak, train or share thoughts, you
always have a way of helping me seek and find the truth in all things. Your
friendship, mentorship and perception are aspects of you that I cherish and
admire. I am so very thankful that I can always call upon you for guidance.
WIth Love and Bushido Always, Shihan Brown

I have watched each of you come into your own. Your relentless
pursuit of knowledge of love of the art continue to inspire me. Every
Sensei should be so blessed to have such devoted friends.
Osu, Sensei
My Back Office Staff: Annette, Kathleen,
Kathy, Mary and Francis
All of you came to realize that I needed help. It was clear that
running a dojo requires more than one person doing everything. You
have given yourselves and your time freely and without hesitation. I
will forever be grateful.

I'm not sure how this came about. Was I looking underfed or simply
tired. How this came about really doesn't matter. But know that
your kindness, generocity and consideration are greatly appreciated.

Dojo
Improvement Group
To everyone
(and there are countless individuals) what has ever lifted a board, struck a
nail with a hammer, hung drywall, painted, swept, scraped, sawed, drilled,
moved, or supervised. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for
helping to build the dojo.
Sincerely,

My Students
Without you,
there is no Dojo. Train hard, learn well my Kohai's. I'm very
proud of you.
